Qtek 9090 - General questions

Hi,

first of all I'm a total newbie when it comes to smartphones, so if this post is in the wrong place, please feel free to move it! I just got myself a Qtek 9090 and I'm very confused about a couple of issues which I am not sure are Qtek specifik or OS (2003 second edition) specific. I'm not sure whether these are real shortcomings or if I'm doing something in the "wrong way".

My first question is that I can't use # or * when dialing. I have managed to find others with this problem and it seems this is a "known" bug which I haven't seen any solution too. I thought I'd bring it up incase someone here knew more about it.

The second part is key/screen lock. I have found 2 options in the settings, Button lock and password protect. As I understand button lock does only protect the unit from getting switched on when in standby/off mode? Password protect is a sort of a screensaver that goes on when the unit is not active, minimum time is 1 minute.

But what if I want to use the unit for listening to music? I then want to put the unit in its case and continue listening to music using the headset. I can't use button lock because if I turn the unit off, of course the music stops. The password protection won't start because the unit is "active". Putting the unit in the standard case without touching the screen has proved to be nearly impossible for me. Even worse is that the same scenario is also valid for when I dial a number and want to put the unit in its case and continueing to talk in the headset. There's jus no way I can easily "lock" the unit? This is a MAJOR hassle for me and I just can't think that this is the way it is suppose to be. So what am I doing wrong?

Many thanks!

/Jonas
