Guest chanceu Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 On my old SmartPhone, I was able to reply to a text message sent from an e-mail address. Apparently the MPx220 doesn't allow that. It receives the message fine, but if I try to reply, the return address is a number and it never reaches the original sender. If I try to reply to the e-mail address, the MPx220 displays an error, "Cannot send to e-mail recipients from the Text Message account. Cancel the message, select an e-mail account, then try again." Is there any way around this without sending via MMS or setting up e-mail?
Guest chucky.egg Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 You can get 3rd party SMS-Email gateway services. Try www.sms2email.co.uk They let people send emails to your mobile (converted into SMS on the fly), but you pay for the SMS messages generally speaking As for replying, not sure that it would ever be possible. If the "sender" of the SMS has a non-numeric address (which you can specify with these SMS gateways) you can't send a text message to them. For example one of my services uses the CLI "SEVENOAKSDC", and the phone can't send a text message back to that because it has no way of finding it. What's the sender's "address" shown as on yours?
