Guest metalgearal Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 (edited) I've got WMAs working fine for my ringtones, stored in Storage Card/My Documents, but can I do the same for SMS alerts and other alerts? The files don't appear in the list that comes up? Edit: If it's a WAV, it appears, but it doesn't play properly and I just here a beep when I select it. Edited December 30, 2004 by metalgearal
Guest squall Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 ringtones tend to beep if they arent encoded correctly. see the guide on making ringtones in the articles section. theres a bug which means wma cant be selected as sms in the normal way. I find it easier to use wma for sms tones. storing them in IPSM/ Application Data/Sounds or storage/ Application Data/Sounds on 2003 phones

As they don't appear still :)
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 I think Squall meant he uses wavs as SMS-tones, as do I. Wavs need to be PCM-formatted otherwise you get that beep instead of the recording. Windows Sound Recorder will reformat them for you (in Programs, Accessories, Entertainment on the PC)

Sorted, cheers. Now to make my own Homeskin! :)
