Guest awsher Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 Hello everyone, I have just taken delivery of my new C500 which I intend to use with Tom Tom Mobile in the near future. I have had the phone network unlocked and now it is sat on BT Mobile. I have seeemingly fumbled my way around to getting WAP working but cannot for the life of me get MMS to work. So has anybody got any experience of a C500 on this network, I know details are sketchy but I did manage to get my Nokia 6230 up and running quite happily, any help would be much appreciated. Oh I've searched the forums with little joy, the fact tha BT is in the http://www.modaco.com/search.php>Search seems to muddle things up as the "word" is so short. Cheers
Guest martin Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 Welcome awsher Can you post up the following MMS data from your Nokia ? Access Point, User name, Password, IP address, Mmsc Address
Guest awsher Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 (edited) Access Point, mobile.bt.uk User name, user Password, btmms IP address, Mmsc Address http://mmsc.btmms.co.uk:8002 The IP address I'm not sure of, unfortunately the Nokia has been sold to make way for the C500, these are settings that I got when setting up that phone, here is a link to where I got my working Nokia settings LINK The post by Kieranb is the one with all the info. I've had a play again today with no joy. Just to try and clear my own mind, I make a new MMS setting in the multimedia settings using the information from that other link, however what I am not sure about is does this use one of the configured Data Connections to connect and send/receive MMS? Think I'm a bit snow blind now Just got these settings aswell, any helpa as regards settings much appreciated Homepage: http://wap.btmw.net APN address : mobile.bt.uk Gateway (IP) address : 149.254.201.132 Username : user Password: wap Session type: Continuous / permanent Port number: 9201 Authentication: Normal Edited December 31, 2004 by awsher
Guest martin Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 I would probably try the following and I can't see why it wouldn't work. Test by sending an MMS containing text only to your E-mail address and then try sending it to your own mobile. Settings-Data connections Menu-Edit connections-GPRS connections Menu-Add Description: BT MMS Connects to: Secure WAP network Acess Point: mobile.bt.uk User name: user Password: btmms In Data Connections make 'Secure WAP Network: BT MMS' Start-Messaging-Media Messaging Menu-Options-Account Setup-Media Messages Menu-Edit connections Menu-Add Description: BT MMS MMSC: http://wap.btmw.net Data connection: Secure WAP network WAP gateway: WAP 1.0 Gateway IP address: 62.239.21.123 Port: 9201 Done Server: BT MMS Send/receive: Automatically Outgoing message size: Less than 100KB Allowed messages; Personal You could also try WAP 2.0 gateway, IP=149.254.201.132, Port=8080
Guest awsher Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 (edited) Martin, Thanks very much it works a treat. Its obvious why you have technical advisor status. Happy new year all. ooops, seems I jumped the gun. I appear to be able to receive MMS (one that was sent to me earlier) however I can't seem to send. I will play with the settings tomorrow as it may be a busy night. You given me a good start as to understanding what I am doing though :) Edited December 31, 2004 by awsher
