I have a very quick question, I'm on O2 and am considering getting a C500, unlocking it and using it as my main phone, however, I dont tend to use GPRS (dont really want to, poor student  ) So was wondering how well the internet works on the Smartphone using Dialup WAP.

I.e Can i still loads full web pages as if i were using GPRS, and more importantly can I still use MSN Messenger??

Regards

Mike

Check to make sure your PAYG account is DATA Enabled if it is then it should work but WAP is NOT the same as the internet. You should be able to just use a dialup ISP provided tou have data access but it will be slow (and therefore expensive.

And the O2 homepage is one of the few webpages that is NOT viewable in pocket ie - D'Oh!

I'm on contract O2 - messenger works fine over GPRS (I get 0.5mb) free with my contract.

You can use WAP dialup to access the "normal" internet but it is very slow and often pages fail to load (cant find site - DNS problem with O2??).

if that is the case using wap csd, try addind the DNS 193.113.200.200 and DNS2 193.113.200.201 and see if makes any difference.

try http://pda.o2.co.uk / or myxda (o2 Asia) from PIE to access the o2 site, you would get the home page however it may not load anything else.
