Guest Ukmouse Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 You know if I pay for http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=54779>MoDaCo Plus do i have to pay every year or is it just a one off payment. Then if I choose to have it next year I pay again or will it automatically come out of my account every year till I stop subscribing? I want to donate to the Tsunami cause and I think Modaco is doing a briiliant thing by offering this. Edit by squall, the site doesnt seem to like keywords being post titles, ie http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=54779>MoDaCo Plus.
Guest squall Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 its an annual membership so you have to renew every year I dont think it happend automatically, rather MoDaCo contact you to let you know its coming to an end then you manually sign up again if you want to
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 Unless you have something set up with PayPal you will get notification when renewal time comes up. No money will be taken unless you authorise it to.
Guest mcwarre Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 No money will be taken unless you authorise it to. Ashley, Are you sure about that?? My renewal came up and I received a message from modaco saying that paypal refused payment (it was an old inactive account). At no stage was I asked to confirm payment......
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 I'm pretty sure I just received a confirmation email from PayPal that renewal had gone through. Maybe there's a Preference setting in PayPal subscriptions ?
Guest blowdart Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 I'm pretty sure I just received a confirmation email from PayPal that renewal had gone through. Maybe there's a Preference setting in PayPal subscriptions ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There is. It's off by default. It is a notification though, not a confirmation, so once you get the email it's gone. Which is why I cancel a paypal subscription once it's gone through, otherwise there's no real control other than your memory.
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 Correct, PayPal subscriptions are exactly that, you will automatically be charged each year, which kinda makes sense. You can of course cancel your subscription in the PayPal interface at any time. By NOT cancelling your subscriptions, you DO protect yourself against any future price rises however :) P
