Guest j☼e Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 I installed my new pqi mini sd card to find out it only had 489.25 mb of storage on it? whats the deal with that? anyone ever had this happen?
Guest squall Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 that sounds about right. You loose some space due to the file system on the card. I dont think there is anything wrong with your card
Guest mcwarre Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Squall, Hate to correct you mate. The reason it doesn't show 512MB is that SD card manufacturers define a MB as 1000 bytes whereas, as we all know, a MB is actually 1024 bytes hence the discrepency...
Guest olly_k Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 I can't help feeling it's a bit of both - Try doing the maths and I bet you can't get 512 :?: If you do I guess I will have to eat my SD-card :)
Guest pietta Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 its always like that when it comes to storage especially on hard drives, my 80gb hdd shows 76.3gb
