C500 e-mail connecting problems

I have a Orange SPV C500 phone which I have problems with setting up my e-mails for access.

The details are inserted correctly. I tried to connect via The Internet aka GPRS and it stayed 'Connecting...' for a long time. I cancelled it.

I checked the details on my e-mail client on my computer and it worked correctly, so there is no mistype of server name, logon/password, etc.

Is there any known problems with Orange e-mail access or it's something else I missed? Has anyone have the same problem as me? Or must I use Orange e-mail details (which I want to avoid)

I have had the same problem with Orange. Advice. Use send receive again but leave it. Mine stayed at the 'connecting' part for 6 minutes and then took another 3 to send receive (first time). After that it sends receives normally and, thank God, much quicker!

Thanks for the reply. So after 6 minutes or so plus 3 tries, it will be quicker afterward, even when you turned off the phone & back on?

I will try this... wonder why this happens.

After a few tries of leaving them on, I now find it's doing the send/receive very quickly.

Finally, now I can use e-mail on my phone! Thanks for the tip. :)

Hey,

I can also confirm that this was the case for me - I left it and now it is correct (fast) speed. Me and mcwarre spend a bit of time between us in IRC the other night trying to sort it out but looks like we have it cracked now! :(

Out of interest, does anyone know the connection speed for upload/download via Orange GPRS?
