Guest pauledmond Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 True, idiotic as it is, per contact ringtones HAVE to be on the phone.
Guest c_zal Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 How do you set per contact ringtones???
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 How do you set per contact ringtones??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you go into Contacts, select one, press Edit then scroll down you'l find the option.
Guest serialkillazzs Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 an updated smarttones aka changer sonneries and the usual registry edit might work, if only it became reality
Guest fozzie Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 (edited) Sorry, it can't be doneĀ :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes it can :D True, idiotic as it is, per contact ringtones HAVE to be on the phone. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No they don't HAVE to be! Easy way - use the excellent and free RJV RegTweaks UI to change the ring tones path to WHEREVER you want it. Slightly harder way - edit \HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring\Directory Either way, you need to soft reset the phone for the changes to take effect. The downside to these changes is that the phone is liable to lock up if you try and go in to Settings\Sounds and the tones path is not the default one of '\windows\'. Guest serialkillazzs Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 use salif ringtone profile to to change the lineone ringtone without havin to go into your sounds folder and edit the registry aswell. smartones and a registry edit worked for spv and e200 with the correct smartones software version, ie windows mobile 2002. unfortunately latest smartones program does not work for windows mobile 2003 second edition.
Guest fozzie Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 (edited) use salif ringtone profile to to change the lineone ringtone without havin to go into your sounds folder and edit the registry aswell.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> That doesn't do anything for Custom contact ring tones though, which is what he was trying to do. Guest serialkillazzs Posted January 14, 2005 Report Posted January 14, 2005 im just saying try using salif profile for changing normal line one, sms ringtone as an alternative to going into sounds folder to prevent crashing ur phone after applying registry edit. that way the edit should fix custom contacts to sd card, aswell as ur normal ringtone profiles with salif profile. maybe ya would read the post first

Guest Confused Stu Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 fozzie, just wanted to say a very big THANK YOU! I'd looked at RJV Regtweaks UI a few times and thought I didn't need it as I already had PHM Registry Editor. Since your post I've downloaded RJV's one and this has now earned a definite permanent place on my C500!! It's got a few useful things on it, but being able to set the sounds path to the Card is the best. Now I can get back to the age of job of choosing a naff ringtone for each individual contact - I now have a different 80's TV theme tune for each member of my family! Cool! (Please note, I never claimed to be cool, and I am aware that the above confirms my sadness. That said, I defy anyone over 20 not to have had A-Team and Rainbow ringtones at some point. Or to have wanted them!)
Guest fozzie Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 No problem. They've a lot of useful apps over on the airfagev web site :D
