Guest Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 I've had a good look but can't find the actual link just people talking about it. I'm considering buying the Pay as you Go phone from the Modaco shop (nice price) but want to make sure I can SIM and Application unlock it first. If can't do both it's of no use to me. I see you can buy it pre-unlocked from Modaco but it's some stupid price of over £200. * I hear it doesn't work if you're running the latest ROM upgrade is this true? * Is there any software that works on the E200 that won't work on the C500? * Is it not possible to SIM unlock the C500 for free? It didn't cost me anything to unlock it on my E200.
Guest squall Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 1. app unlock the c500 by clicking on http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=102618>OTA letters 2. The unlocked phone is a developers phone, not intended for normal users, hence the price 3. Sim and app unlock work with latest rom 4. nearly all software works on c500 (all as far as i know) 5. sorry there is no way to sim unlock c500 for free
Guest Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 Thanks again Squall. The developers version is the same though juts unlocked right? Which you can get for £170 if you buy the standard Pay as you go version with the £20 SIM unlock. Do you know what software doesn't? Is there a list? (Games aside).
Guest squall Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 Im not aware of any other than games. And the developers version is more or less the same as the sim unlocked normal version.
Guest Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 (edited) That link to application unlock the phone gives this link: http://developer.orangews.com/orgspv/comdefq.aspx Which doesn't mention the C500??? What does http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=102618>OTA mean? Edited January 3, 2005 by Guest
Guest Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 (edited) What about this link? http://developer.orangews.com/orgspv/comdef.aspx It looks virtually the same. p.s - Thanks again. Edited January 3, 2005 by Guest
Guest squall Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 answered elsewhere, but its the same anyway. Please dont cross post in the future
