Guest datsunman Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 (edited) Hi all, just taken delivery of my C500 and am well pleased with it so far, i've been lurking for a little while and thought it was about time I asked my first stupid question. :) Now for the question: I'm diabetic and note down my blood sugar levels, insulin injections and meals throughout the day. I'm currently noting them down as Calendar entries on the C500 and syncing it with Outlook when I get home from work. It's a little untidy and doesn't provide a decent layout (I used to use a simple four column Excel spreadsheet but can't use it on the C500) and I'd like to find a way to record the data in a better format. I was thinking of two options; use a custom Outlook form or write a simple 'notebook' application. Thing is I haven't got a clue where to start. Can you use custom Outlook forms with Smartphones? If not what programming language would be best to learn for a simple app like this? I've seen an app called FoneDB on Handango, has anyone used this before? Any advice would be gratefully received as I'm kinda stuck for ideas at the moment! Ta. Dan Edited January 4, 2005 by datsunman
Guest jamescj Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 You want to try the following freeware now available on Smartphone: http://www.sidiary.org/sidiary/en/default.asp
Guest datsunman Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 Wow, that looks spot on!! Thanks a lot. :)
Guest jamescj Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 Do let me know what you think of the software - I am not diabetic but a research scientist in biomedical engineering. I develop systems for monitoring physiological measurements - I am looking towards the Smartphone platform to accommodate such software for diabetes, asthma and hypertension - to name a few.

I'll give it a week or so's use and send you a pm with my thoughts. Thanks, Dan
Guest jamescj Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 I might add that I have nothing to do with this particular software or its developer - I just happened to have this page linked in my favourites :)
Guest Alf_SiDiary Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 Hi, I found this thread when I saw the hits from this site in my server logs and I now want to add a short note: May I ask you for a copy of this email with your thoughts about this app when you're done with testing? :( I'm really interested in that :) Thanks, Alf.
