Activesync won't sync! (SPV C500)

Hello all,

I'm having a bit of trouble with Activesync 3.7.1. First, let me give an overview of software (and hardware) used:

- Win2k

- Office 2003

- Activesync 3.7.1

- Orange SPV C500

I reinstalled my pc this weekend, and was glad to see that everything seemed to work just fine. However when i hooked up my spv, Activesync quit the connection while trying to sync the Calendar. When I disabled the syncing of the Calendar, it just hangs while trying to sync the Contacts. I've already tried to reset my phone (not a complete hardreset, but with the orange reset tool), but that didn't work either.

Firewall is turned off.(Sygate)

Does anyone have any idea how to solve this problem?

TIA

I'm running Win2k SP4, and I can't seem to remember that there is a built in firewall in this OS. I'll try and see this afternoon. In the mean time I'm open to all other suggestions!

I am guessing you backed up your calendar entries (or any of the sync items!!!) with Orange Backup and then Restored them. This seems to make the data incompatible with activesync causing it to freeze and crash out. Only way round it I found was to http://www.modaco.com/index.php?act=ST&f=1...62&st=0>HARD RESET the phone and then resync all data from Outlook. If you have entries not on Outlook you have to restore them by hand. Don't know if anyone ever found it but I am guessing you could just delete the file containing the data on the phone, or edit it so that the data format is compatible with Outlook.
