Hello all

I'm trying to set up my SPV to pick up pop email. When I go into the Accoutn Setup screen and click on "Outlook E-Mail" nothing happens. All the others work, I've set up an Imap account, etc but Outlook just doesn't work.

Any pointers? I've tried the old switch off and on again but to no avail.

Cheers

Ben

I take it you have a C500? When you send receive it just says connrcting? If so leave it for 8 ish minutes. For some reason the first time you try send receive when you set up a new account it takes that amount of time. After that it should work normally. Let us know if this cured it.

Hey there

It's not a problem with that, I just can't set the account up at all. I click on Start, Messaging, Outlook E-mail, Menu, Options, Account Setup, Outlook Email and nothing happens - the words "Outlook Email" are highlighted but that's it. When I click on Imap it takes me into the account set up page(s) but nothin happens with Outlook.

Help!

While hi-lighting Outlook E-mail, pick Menu then New and create it from there.

It usually works better than using the existing Outlook account on screen.

Feel free to shoot me down, but my "Outlook e-mail" seems to purely pull over the recent e-mails from my PC when I activesync (provided I sync my inbox, of course). I cannot actually do a send/receive on the "Outlook e-mail" over the air, it picks up and sends any mails I've done on the phone next time I sync with the PC.

In order to receive the e-mails over the air, I had to set up a new messaging account on the phone with the log-on details I had previously entered into Outlook on the PC. That way you can do a send/receive over the air if you realy need to send an urgent e-mail and won't be at your PC for a while.

Outlook email is an account that's set up for synching with your outlook email on your PVC and not to send and receive from your phone. As you've found out you need to create a new account. Best to change the name from the default POP3 - espacially if you've got more than one account. My ,main account is still called POP3 because you can't chamge it once you've done it and I can't be bothered to set it all up again.

I dont suppose you could offer some help in setting up an MMS acount? I only have "Outlook Email" and "SMS".

If I create a new account for MMS, it seems to give me the usual "email setup" options, and obviously most settings do not apply to MMS.

Any ideas?

You need to get your operator to enable it first.

Get my operator to enable MMS?

Or get my operator to enabele something on the handset?

-MMS is enabled - If I put this SIM in my T610 I can send and recieve MMS messages. My problem is the MMS component of "messaging" on the smartphone I think, there doest seem to be one?

Ensure that you are NOT using the email name as the logon. it's some random numbers & letters.

Visit the Orange email section on their website and it will tell you the logon name. I think it's 8 characters or so.
