Battery charge

Just recieved my new C500 SVP, looking through the manual it say's the first charge should be for 3 hours :?: Is that right, cuase most new phone battiers say first charge should be 16 hours.

3 hours should be enough, i normally do 5 - 6.

16 hours is needlessly long
