Problems with ROM Update

Hi new to this, have trawled through the forum searching for a similar problem but to no avail. I have problems when using the orange ROM Update Utility.

I downloaded it to my PC then killed everything then closed firewalls etc then attached phone and got connected as per the instructions, when I run it I succesfully navigate through the first few screen and the software detects my phone and say's do you wish to proceed. I click on the yes I am sure button. It then sets my phone screen white followed by the 3 color display. Active sync on my PC then dissapears and I get the in progress dialogue and after about 30 seconds it comes up with a connection error.

Does any body have any other ptoblems like this, or I am I being a comlete spaz and doing someting very wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem a few weeks ago, got a new c500 and wanted to flash it with the latest upgrade but it wouldnt for the same reason as you mentioned. I read in a thread on here that someone suggested trying to do it using a different computer, so I plugged it into my other laptop and the update worked fine first time. Iv no idea why this is so, tried all USB ports on a Toshiba laptop without any luck, then first time I try it on an old unbranded laptop and it works fine.
