Guest chucky.egg Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 I've got Code Wallet Pro, and the PC Companion, from the Handango Free App promotion, which was nice :) - I'd been thinking of ditching eWallet anyway cos it's a bit hard work on the phone (and the PC ap isn't too hot either IMO) But... I wanted to know if there's a way to transfer my data from eWallet to CodeWallet without having to re-enter it all. Is there any easy conversion tool available? Anyone got any tips? It'll take me a-g-e-s to re-enter it all!
Guest onlydarksets Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 (edited) Sorry in advance - I know this is nonresponsive to your question. How did you get the desktop app for free? I looked and did not find a link to it. Edited January 8, 2005 by onlydarksets
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 Sorry in advance - I know this is nonresponsive to your question. How did you get the desktop app for free? I looked and did not find a link to it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It was a gift to Handango members last week.
Guest onlydarksets Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 It was a gift to Handango members last week. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Smartphone app was (and still is) free - I am asking about the desktop app. I could not find that.
Guest chucky.egg Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 That's because it was the freebie last week - each week the freebie changes and the old ones are no longer available free. You can still buy it, but it's $15 or so I think It's worth visiting Handango regularly (at least once a week) to check out the current freebie
Guest onlydarksets Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 (edited) OK - I'm going to beat the dead horse here. Perhaps I am not being clear. I downloaded the Smartphone version a couple of days ago (free from Handango). This does not include the Desktop version. I am trying to get the Desktop version. The Desktop version is usually $19.95. So, what you are saying is that last week the giveaway was CodeWallet for Desktop, and that this week the giveaway is CodeWallet for Smartphone? I don't think that is correct. Like I said, I probably was not being clear. If this is not what you are saying, please clarify. If the Desktop version is available for free, I would like to get that. Thanks! Edited January 9, 2005 by onlydarksets
Guest onlydarksets Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 (edited) And, in the interest of quid pro quo, I believe the answer to your question is currently no, but a solution is forthcoming: http://forums.developerone.com/showthread.php?t=291 This was posted after CodeWallet 4.2 was released, and I did not see any indication of when the next release is due. However, a more recent post does not indicate this feature is being implemented: http://forums.developerone.com/showthread.php?t=661 Edited January 9, 2005 by onlydarksets

Guest onlydarksets Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 Well, consider me corrected! I must have had my settings messed up in Handango because last week my free download was a copy of the Art of War. Thanks for your patience!
Guest ycneosg Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 Well, consider me corrected! Thanks for your patience! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, you're right, it was Art of War the week before. chucky.egg is not wrong either, CodeWallet Pro Desktop Campanion was given free under Pocket PC section, not under Smartphone.
Guest chucky.egg Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 last week my free download was a copy of the Art of War. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh, Ok. I see what you mean now. It might have been 2 or 3 weeks ago. I can't remember exactly, but it's been and gone recently. HTH
