Guest randomspam Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 Using SP http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=7065>Task Manager I can see that I only have 2.93MB free on my phone, that's only 13% of the available physical memory. I've shifted all my pictures and any unused wav files out onto my storage card but I still only have 13% free. I've had a look through the phone and I have the following 7 files in the windows folder MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft WDP SMS Protocol MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft WCMP SMS Protocol MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft Text SMS Protocol MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft Status Message SMS Protocol (Receive Only) MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft Raw SMS Protocol (Receive Only) MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft Notification SMS Protocol (Receive Only) MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft Broadcast Message SMS Protocol (Receive Only) Each of these files are 2.71 meg that's 18.97 ! Now I have done a http://www.modaco.com/search.php>Search on these forms for the above files and someone else had them but only a few 100k each and had been told they were MS files that couldn't be deleted. Why are mine so big, how do I free up some memory? Thanks RS
Guest mcwarre Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 Back up your data and do a Hard Reset!
Guest Confucious Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 These files are part of the OS and are 2.71Mb each a hard reset or anything else (except a change of OS) will not change that. A reboot of the phone will free up memory and you should have 7-8Mb free after a reboobut it will go down as you load applications into memory. Are you looking at free storage space or free memory? In settimngs->About I am showing Available Storage 10.90Mb Total Storage 27.98Mb Available Memory 4.25 Mb Total Memory 21.62 Mb If you are talking about memory, why are you worried about it?

I'm facing a problem with the video facility of the camera. I just can't film more than a couple of second befor it stops and says there's a memory problem. I thought it was because of this low memory, but now I'm confused about where the problem lies... Anyone any clue?
