Guest dadahmmya Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 Does anyone know why I cannot copy pictures received via mms will not copy via usb onto my PC? many thanks D
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 I've copied some over just last week, so it is possible. You need to 'Save Media' first and then simply copy & paste when connected to your PC with ActiveSync. If MultiMedia Album is still open though, you may not get access to them. What sort of problem are you having ?
Guest dadahmmya Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 Thanks for your quick reply Disco. I have received a few MMS messages with pictures that I'd like to transfer to my PC, and I can save them to the phone and move them about once on there, but when I try to copy the pic to pc via ActiveSync I get the message "Cannot copy *filename*: access is denied". It works if I email the pic to my address, but this is a real pain to keep doing over and over again. I looked at the pic properties in Smartphone Explorer, and the attributes show the file as being an Archive + System file, but I cannot change these attributes, I just get an error again. Could this be down to the phone that took the pic setting the attributes as a system file? this is the only explanation I can think of thanks again D
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 Strangely that's the only thing I could think of, though I can't think why the other phone would be set up that way. Then again if they are 'System Files' I would have thought you couldn't move them around your phone either. Might it be something to do with a firewall on your PC affecting ActiveSync ?
Guest dadahmmya Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 Thanks again for the quick reply I'd be surprised if it was the firewall, as it lets all the other files and pics over absolutely fine. Its a bit frustrating to say the least! I've only been sent mms by one person, so I guess I'll have to play around with her (Nokia 6100) phone to see if there is anything set on there, failing that I'll try getting someone else to send me some. Thanks for your help, and if you hear of any reasons that could have caused this, I'd appreciate it a lot if you could let me know. D
