Guest darrellt Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 Hey guys and girls! I know that ActiveSync has had a lot of flack already but wondered if anyone has had this problem before. After it has synchronised my appointments and contact details it leaves the Outlook process running in the background causing me to have two Outlook processes running. This can be demonstrated by checking processes after it has synchronised. Any ideas how to stop it? I've searched Microsoft's knowledge database but found no mention. D.

D. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep, same here.. Connect the device, sync, OUTLOOK.EXE keeps running in processes. Also if I have Outlouk open when the device connects an activesync becomes active I can't close Outlook. The program disappears but the trayicon remains. Clicking that and selecting "open microsoft outlook" results in an error.. Annoying but not that serious 8)
Guest scottb Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 I've experienced the same problem. Activesync 3.8 was just released--maybe that will fix it.

Guest ultimasnake Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 Oh my and i always complained about outlook itself staying open... so that's the problem... i even had about 10 instances of outlook running after a while (if it gets auto disconnected and you reconnect the phone it will start a new one) and it takes 25,000kb each or so kinda sucky
