Guest gingepaul Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 Hi all, just joined so thought I'd start by saying All the best for 2005 :) Right then, I'm having trouble setting up my c500 with active sync over bluetooth (usb was working fine, now thats dropping out now and then, but thats another story). I think the problem is on the pc more than the smartphone though, but can't seem to get to the bottom of it. I'm using a belkin bluetooth usb adapter, with the belkin software (had to take control back off sp2 bluetooth software). When i pair the phone with the pc and set up a serial port over bluetooth, it always creates a com port between 12-16, even though it could use a number from 3 onwards. Ive read somewhere that active sync has a problem with comm ports over number 9 (bit of a bug apparently). anyway at this point it looks like its going smoothly, after all its not give any errors, and the wizard completes sucessfully. untill i go to the bt settings on the phone and try to go through the bt active sync setting, where Im told to "pair the device up with another device that supports serial port over bluetooth or active sync profile" Anyone else have this probem? My windows install is fairly clean, getting on a bit but all patches, updates blar blar is fine, no hardware conflicts, no reason for such high numbers in the comm ports.
Guest gaplayer26 Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 :) Hi and welcome to the board. IMHO, I'd prefer to use the Windows XP SP2 native Bluetooth driver... I had such trouble getting ActiveSync to work using BT, took me 3 days  Anyway, if you haven't already tried it, check out the C500 BT ActiveSync Guide HTH
