Guest Terry21uk Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 Hi. I just got my Orange SPV C500 and remember reading somewhere that there is a way to get it to work with another sim card by pluging in the charger and then removing the battery, but thats all i can remember and I can't find the site now. Anyone know this unlocking trick, if you do can you tell me the rest of it please.
Guest mcwarre Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 Hi Welcome to the site :) For unlocking a C500 to any network goto www.imei-check.co.uk it costs £20 (cheaper than network provider) and is a fast reliable service. This is the only way to get it unlocked there are no 'free' ways or 'tricks' to do it
Guest Terry21uk Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 Hi I've seen that site and and will maybe use thier service. There is someone on bay who says he can send the unlocking code via email for £5!!!. A local shop will do it fo £35. You takes your pick I guess.
Guest mcwarre Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 I doubt very much that the eBay (can you post a link) person can do it remotely. Especially for a fiver. £35 in a shop? Honestly, the £20 is the best deal. Only drawback is having to effectively hard reset your phone :D
Guest Confucious Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 The £35 in a shop means they will just use www.imei-check.co.uk and make £15 - i have seen another site that does it for $75 - Bargain! As for the £5 offer, well......
Guest mcwarre Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 If you look at the £5 offer on eBay it quite clearly says that "AS A NEW UPGRADE TO THIS CD I HAVE ADDED THE NETWORK UNLOCK SOFTWARE FOR THE ORIGINAL SPV & E100 . (not e200, c500,m1000 or mpx range)" Read the description very carefully (as with everything on eBay)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 I just got my Orange SPV C500 and remember reading somewhere that there is a way to get it to work with another sim card by pluging in the charger and then removing the battery That method brings back memories :D Unfortunately that was only possible on the Original SPV before any ROM updates were released.
