Guest scottb Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 When exiting applications, some of them return me to the homescreen and some return me to the "call" (for lack of a better term) screen. I refer to the "call" screen as the one you would see as you are entering in a phone number to place a call. Why don't they all return me to the homescreen? I have a Samsung i600 with WM2003. Thanks for any help.
Guest gaplayer26 Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 Can't say I have mine ever returning to the 'call screen' but I have found that if I have an application (or specific screen) open, then start another application; then exit that application it will not return to the homescreen but the screen prior to opening/starting the app.
Guest Confucious Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 You'don't exit programs (unless they have an exit menu option, which they shouldn't have) thgey are still running in the background. The back button should, I believe, take you back to where you entered the program from. So if you entered the program from the Homescreen that's where you should end up. I've never been taken back to the call screen.
Guest Matt Kirby Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 You can be returned to the "call screen" if you have set up a speed-dial for the program- it returns you to that screen with the number of the last keypress showing.
Guest scottb Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 Thanks for the responses. These are programs that have an exit on the menu. It might have something to do with RJShortcuts, which I neglected to mention. For example, Opera will return me to the homescreen, where I launched it from. Smart Explorer will return me to the call screen even though I launched it from the homescreen.
Guest Confucious Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 Presumeably RJShortcuts is setting up a speed-dial for each program so is, in effect, beimng launched from the call screen whuch would explain it..
Guest Brody Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 Exit commands merely close the application and therefore show whatever was top of the stack, so whatever the application was called from will be shown. RJShortcuts must be setting speed dials.
Guest scottb Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 Maybe I'll drop RemyJ a note and ask him about it. It's odd that different applications behave differently when launched from the same place (RJShortcut). Some exit back to the homescreen, some to the call screen.
