Guest TheDiggia Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 hi there, has anyone changed the buttons on their homescreen on the orange spv c500, id rather have a link to my documents than a link to the calender that i'll never use on my homescreen. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I would like do the same on my SP3 but i don't know.....
Guest drblow Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 What do you mean by the buttons? The only thing that links to the calendar is the homescreen plugin - is that what you mean? In any case, it's not possible to make homescreen plugins link to folders unfortunately. & I've certainly never heard of anybody remapping actual hardware buttons to open folders, if thats what you mean!?
Guest TheDiggia Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 (edited) I refer to the possibility to have links in the Homescreen but without reppaming the hardware(i'm not Bill Gates ) but i 'm looking for a software that let me add some links in the Homescreen. Do you know any software? Thanks a lot :D Edited January 13, 2005 by TheDiggia
Guest nedge2k Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 Yup...its called notepad.exe :D Open the homescreen xml up in notepad and have a fiddle with it.
Guest TheDiggia Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 Thanks Nedge. But I know a little bit of Xml,so it's very difficult for me....
Guest techno_muppet Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 What do you mean by the buttons? down the left hand side, you've got contacts, calls, messages, calendar and camera. im never gonna use the calendar so replacing it with a link to my documents would be a lot more useful. theres software that lets you edit this stuff without digging into the xml, dreamweaver style i think, tho i've forgotten what its called.
Guest TheDiggia Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 If you remember the name of the software please say me....thanks!
Guest drblow Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 theres software that lets you edit this stuff without digging into the xml, dreamweaver style i think, tho i've forgotten what its called. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No there isn't! At least, if there is it's news to me. The C500 plugin has alraedy been discussed by crafty - you'll find it using the search function. The "buttons" cannot be changed, because the plugin is not configurable. @thediggia - if you want to customise your homescreen then if you search the forum there is all the info you ould possibly ever need right here. As mentioned above, it is not possible to make a shortcut to documents folders, or any other folders.
