Guest sgeary Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 (edited) Hi Can someone please tell me what i should do i just turned my phone off and on again and now it get to the windows mobile screen it then turns off and then starts up again and just keeps doing this!!! This is the second time it has done it in a week!!!!! I was told by someone on here this is quite rare and it is the phone memory corrupt. But how is this heppening is it dodgy software?? All apps and games i put on the memory card to keep the phone memory free, i have a 512mb Transcend MiniSD Card. is there anyway of telling if a piece of software is dodgy? How can i avoid this happening or is it a dodgy phone so should i take it back to the orange shop and get a new one? I have a C500 Thanks for your help Edited January 8, 2005 by sgeary
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 I would recommend taking it back. Normally the C500 is very robust and unless you've done something really silly it shouldn't be doing this.
Guest sgeary Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 Not done anything silly with it just installed the normal apps everything installs not tried to do anythin with the registry
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 Are you making sure the battery is not running out? This can cause possible problems, if not that I would ask for a replacement.
Guest Confucious Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 What apps are you installing. I had this problem when I first got my phone and installed all sorts of things I downloaded for it. I found that if I installed one particular app it happened, if I didn't then it didn't happen but as i have not heard of anyone else having problems with this app I am reluctant to name it, it could just have been coincidence but my phone has been fine ever since.

Guest Confucious Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 No I won't tell you. :D But try installing everything EXCEPT Quick close and I think you might find the problem does not re-occur.
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 The pre-installed Free Memory does the same thing now, doesn't it ?

Guest Disco Stu Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Binarys' Task Manager will format the card. If you have a card reader you can use that too.
Guest notbot Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 (edited) Cheers mate i think i will do a hard reset, next problem is i installed it to my memory card so to make sure theres nothing left i want to format the memory card <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i have and e200 smartphone and have installed a 256mb sd card. when the phones internal memory is full I have changed the memory options box to transfer all new photos and videos to the storage card, but when I take new photos/videos I get a message on the phone saying 'unable to save the captured image. file access was denied'. can you tell me what the problem could be? Guest Disco Stu Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 NotBot - please don't cross-post. It is against forum rules and reduces your chances of getting a decent response to your question.
