Decertification Problems

Hi guys

New here and have a prob with my Mpx200 UK on Orange. I tried the alphaflux.cab and all i got was Inadeqaute System permissions. So i decided to have a bit more of a look around and found newer Mpx200's ( mines only 3 months old ) needed to be decerted on the orange development site, so i entered my details and clicked to decert. waited 30 mins nothing happened, so i enetered my details again and waited another 30 mins, still no message on my phone so i decided to load up an uncerted cab anyway and lo and behold it ran! :D

The phone had become decertified so i loaded it allup with the usual stuff like doom and betaplayer and everything was fine. Then the next day i turn my phone on and i find everything had been reset my home screen back to default, all the shortcuts put in there usual place and the decertify had been LOST!?!

So i go back to oranges site and try to decertify again, i've tried like 3 times over the last 10 hours and the phone won't unlock again!

Has this happned to anyone else and does anyone have any advice on what i should do?

Any help muchly appreciated,

Alex

Welcome to the site :D

You need to be conected to the internet when trying to decert.

You can do this via GPRS or passthrough.

I unlocked about a week ago with no problems.

Also you phone sounds like it has performed a partial reset which can happen when the registry becomes corrupt.

Try unlocking again whilst connected to the internet, and let us know how you get on.

So do i just connect to any site on the internet on the phone, leave it running and then run the decert thing on my pc?

On the site it just says that it needs to have connected once which it has done.

Why did it decert and then reset everything? if i decert adn then do a master reset will i have to decert it again?

Thanks For the help,

Alex

You need to have connected once to have registered your phone as this does it automaticaly.

You also need an active GPRS connection, so yes any site.

The unlock was probably nothing to do with your reset. It's more likely to be messing with the registry or installing something that corupted it.

If you hard reset you will need to unlock again :D

Hope this helps

A partial reset is usually caused by low battery or low phone memory. Install everything onto the storage card and keep an eye on memory with the Task Manager.

Did you use this link for unlocking ? AFAIK it is the current site.

I had a similar problem where my MPX200 wouldn't decertify through the developers website. I emailed the Orange Developers group (can't remember the email address, it's on the website) and I was sent a .CAB file for installing onto the phone. It puts a program into the Accessories folder on the Start menu, each time you run it, it enables/disables security on the phone. You need to get one for your phone as the CAB file is based on the IMEI number of your phone. Hope this helps! :D
