Guest Disco Stu Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 Hmmm...Orange Backup does cause people a lot of problems. Thanks for reporting back :D
Guest Confucious Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 As Orange have said, if you have a backup from a previous phone DO NOT RESTORE IT TO A C500. Their recomended solution is to Sync the other phone to Outlook and then Sync Outlook to the C500. They are , allegedly, working on a solution.

I reported this to Orange a few weeks after the C500 was released and was told they couldn't believe there could be a problem between the backedup data and activesync. Having spent two days locating the problem, diagnosing it and correcting it on my phone I was a bit miffed. Hope they DO find a solution - it seems ridiculous that you can't follow best principles and have your data backed up in as many places as possible.

Guest Dr Who Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 (edited) http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=118759 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cheers Confucious. (BTW 4 months 1200 posts - good work fella) ACTUALLY, I was fairly sure I had tried Orange Backup with data from a C500 and this did the same thing. Might be totally wrong, mind. Oh YEAH. And great advice - if I had data in Outlook I would have synced from there in the first place!!! I lost my computer at the same time I updated my phone and therefore only had the Orange Backup data. Thanks a lot Orange - I could have figured that out myself (actually I did). Edited January 10, 2005 by Dr Who
