Guest Terry21uk Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Why does the Adjusting the volume of the earpiece on my C500 not only adjust my incall volume but also the volume of every function on the phone at the same time IE. games, media player. ect. For example, if I set it low for playing a game, it will also be low for playing back music unless I adjust it before hand.
Guest muff Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 it's because it's like a master volume control for the phone as a whole, not a particular function
Guest udayan71 Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 and by the way its pretty amazing. going on buses means that the volume control is the only way i can hear my music from the C500.
Guest ga!nusha Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 btw if i set the phone to silent the games sound is still there...it's a shame cuz i wanted to play snails at college 8)
Guest muff Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 btw if i set the phone to silent the games sound is still there...it's a shame cuz i wanted to play snails at college 8) that depends on the game :D most games dont obey the 'Silent' mode, some do
Guest ga!nusha Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 (edited) damn...then i have bad luck...cuz i have like 20 games and all of them have sound when the phone-s silent....good thing there is earpiece volume 8) Edited January 12, 2005 by ga!nusha
Guest jmrecanize Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 You do realise that almost every game (including snails) have the option to turn sound off. The onl one ive come accross that has permanent sound is kevtris.
Guest ga!nusha Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 yes...i realise...but it's a bit frustrating to turn the sound on/off at every game...
Guest simonbratt99 Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 you dont need to turn the sound off for every game.... just turn down the Master vol to 0 (switch on side of phone) , load the game, and ah HA no sound. thats what i do.

Guest muff Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 yes but look at my post from Jan 12 2005, 22:02 nr 6 i think  as far as I know (and I could be wrong here) Eclipse is the only game that actually obeys the Silent mode - it's something that should be done by all coders in the meantime, you'll just have to work around it with the volume control of the phone itself - if that's a problem set the volume down AND put the phone in silent mode - so at least the phone will vibrate when you get a call (though as you are looking at the screen whilst playing the game - and if the game is behaving properly - it should break out to the Incoming Call screen)
