Why does the Adjusting the volume of the earpiece on my C500 not only adjust my incall volume but also the volume of every function on the phone at the same time IE. games, media player. ect. For example, if I set it low for playing a game, it will also be low for playing back music unless I adjust it before hand.

it's because it's like a master volume control for the phone as a whole, not a particular function

and by the way its pretty amazing. going on buses means that the volume control is the only way i can hear my music from the C500.

that depends on the game :D

most games dont obey the 'Silent' mode, some do

You do realise that almost every game (including snails) have the option to turn sound off. The onl one ive come accross that has permanent sound is kevtris.

yes...i realise...but it's a bit frustrating to turn the sound on/off at every game...

you dont need to turn the sound off for every game....

just turn down the Master vol to 0 (switch on side of phone) , load the game, and ah HA no sound. thats what i do.

as far as I know (and I could be wrong here) Eclipse is the only game that actually obeys the Silent mode - it's something that should be done by all coders

in the meantime, you'll just have to work around it with the volume control of the phone itself - if that's a problem set the volume down AND put the phone in silent mode - so at least the phone will vibrate when you get a call (though as you are looking at the screen whilst playing the game - and if the game is behaving properly - it should break out to the Incoming Call screen)
