Guest chucky.egg Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 Hey how do you find these weekly freebies? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The link to the "start" is http://www.handango.com/HandangoHolidayPromo.jsp (note caps in jsp file name). Bear in mind that you can go back to this link and choose another device and get the freebie for THAT device as well. I got CodeWallet Pro from the Smartphone giveaway, and the CodeWallet Pro Desktop Companion from the PocketPC one - saved myself $30+ :D In theory there's no reason why you can't download multiple copies for friends AFAIK (although some might eb limited by the device Ownername setting) - so if you see something nice that a mate might want GRAB IT! The free app voucher code might have to go in capitals (FREEAPP) , and only works on that weeks freebie :D

Guest chucky.egg Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 (edited) No, sorry, not allowed I'm guessing your last post asking for that was removed by a Moderator. Software piracy is a very quick route to getting yourself banned from here, so I would edit your post and remove the request and your email address if I was you. Keep an eye on Handango though cos theres still at least one more free app to come. Edited January 21, 2005 by chucky.egg
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 Post referred to above has been removed for obvious reasons
Guest chucky.egg Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 How long before it gets reposted do you think?
Guest Calzonie Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 If it was free I don't see what's wrong with it, I wouldn't ask for a game that wasn't free.
Guest chucky.egg Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 Maybe I can answer that for you, even though I'm not a Moderator or anything... The point is that it was free, to people who downloaded from Handango, for a limited time. By downloading from Handango both they and the manufacturer get information about you as their customer (even though in this instance the customer wasn't parting with any money). That information helps them in some ways, so they get something out of it too. That won't be the case for people obtaining the same free copies from other sources. Nobody's picking on you, and the Mods haven't even given you a warning (which I take to mean that they understand the confusion the freebies might cause). So don't worry about it, but understand that this is a "clean" forum, and software piracy is strictly forbidden. Keep your eyes peeled for the remaining freebies, and don't forget that there's loads of freeware around (a lot of it here at Modaco). Your posts were an unconventional start, so you didn't get the normal warm welcome at the time. So, Welcome to the forum now!
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 Thanks Chucky. And welcome Calzonie. :D
