Guest holr Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 Hi, I have and spv c500 and its a nice phone and all, but having issues with the multikeypress (or lack thereof). I know its been talked about a lot and theres even a sticky on it up above, but from what Ive read the keypad allowed two presses at once before the orange firmware update. Is it possible to downgrade the phone, to re-enable the multikeypress on the keypad? And one more question :-) With the tmobile sda and sda music phones, ive read a few lucky people who have them they dont have any issues with multi keypress. Is this only with the keypad, or do the sda / sda music allow multikeypress with the joystick also? Thanks!! holr
Guest Confused Stu Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 I know I've read a few times that the multi-press issue is a hardware issue and that it's not possible for Orange to release a ROM to fix it. Taking this logically, this should mean that replacing the ROM with an older one won't work either - otherwise Orange could simply use the bit that worked from that ROM! As for the SDA, if that doesn't suffer from multi-key issues then that would imply that the engineering is different to the C500 - so why engineer the problem into one and not the other? Can't see Orange requesting it be put in! I'm sure someone will come up with the definitive answer (Squall has a habit of being good with the techno answers!), but until then this is my two-pence worth!
Guest holr Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 ok, thanks for the thought! true, it shouldnt be in one and then not the other...
