Guest TigerNet Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 ...as far as I am aware, most SD cards will work...Sandisk seem to be pretty popular though... Cheers Nick
Guest Blakey Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 I have the 1GB Mini SD card from MoDaCo shop and am having problems with it. I'm undergoing tests with a friend to see if its an issue with the card itself, the JAM or the compatibility between the two. Just a potential warning... Cheers Blakey
Guest Blakey Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 Just an update. This morning I reformatted my card and reinstalled a bunch of files on it. So far (after about two hours of media playing) I've got no issues. All seems to be working properly again. I only really started seeing the problems when I was driving in my car, getting media player to play (started through voice command) and with the output pluggeded into my car stero, whilst the JAM was powered by the car adaptor (!!!!). So I'll try that same scenario shortly and see if things have improved and report back. The point being I don't want to scare anyone off a potentially okay card. Cheers Blakey

Guest Blakey Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 Another update on my 1GB mini SD card. It deffo doesn't work. I've sent it back to the Modaco shop. The guy I spoke to said he has a JAM and one of those cards in his which works perfectly. So it appears the card itself DOES work and that mine was simply a faulty one. I'll post again when they have contacted me and confirmed I got a dodgy card or not... Cheers Blakey

Guest LadFromWales85 Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 Hey all :D On the topic of SD cards, it seems as though Sandisk is the way to go. Is it worth getting the Ultra II 60x Sandisk card? Each Ultra SD card features a minimum write speed of 9 megabytes per second (MB/sec.) and a minimum read speed of 10MB/sec, making them the fastest performing flash memory cards in the world. 1GB Standard Sandisk SD card @ £43.95 + Shipping 1GB Ultra II 60x Sandisk SD Card @ £74.90 + Shipping Thanks all :D Am trying to get all my Jam stuff today, so it all comes tomorrow, along with the Jam :P
Guest namiran Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 i got a sandisk maximum III, its almost double the price and seems to drain more battery than a normal card would, but its OH so fast :D
Guest SeaneyC Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 i got a sandisk maximum III, its almost double the price and seems to drain more battery than a normal card would, but its OH so fast :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Does the jam really have anything that makes use of the speed?
