Guest bronksy Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 C500 on Orange, post hard reset. If I'm connected to GPRS then I can't get any MMS, correct? If I'm connecter to GPRS and someone sends me a MMS then it won't come through and gives me a stupid SMS for picking up the message from mms.orange.co.uk If i compose a MMS and i'm connected to GPRS, it wont send and it sits in the outbox forever until i manually send and receive after I disconnect from my other GPRS connection. Can someone help me find a workaround for this. I find it wierd that Orange tries once to send a message and then fails it because my GPRS is connected already. I also get 'unable to place call' and I Have to reboot the phone to make /receive a call. this is garbage. OCS told me something that wasn't much help.. I'm turning to the brethren of Modaco for some help! Whats the problem with this phone.
Guest martin Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 If you are using Internet Explorer and are presently connected on GPRS using APN internet or orangewap then MMS should automatically end that session and activate a new one using APN orangemms. It works for me so I don't where your problem is. All I can suggest is clearing out your SMS/MMS folders (including the deleted folder) and freeing up some memory to ensure sure that temporary storing of the messages are OK,

Basically I am using the Duality always on client, it seems because there is always data being transferred, it cannot pull the MMS down. I know this should not be the case, I'm using orange GPRS to connect to the net as usual. The MMS won't send either until I pause the client. I think that the Smartner Client must be coded not to allow it to be disconnected. Anyone else using Duality that can help me here? I have it always connected and the connection is kept alive. Thanks all
