Guest lostinvt Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 So after waiting a good 4 months from when I got my first mpx220, I figured time to try again... So I went into the local store, they had one left in the back in a box. There was a sticker on the box dated 1/4/05 so Im guessing either that was when it was made or shipped to the store. It has ver. 1.3 on it. Took it home and just for fun tried to pop my tmobile sim into it. Came right up, registerd on the network and everything....
Guest ozziegn Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 thats odd because most of the peeps who I've talked to have all gotten locked phones (including myself) from Cingular. oh well, no biggie cuz Cingular gave me my unlocking code so its all good.
Guest deniselll Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 ozziegn, hello, just got my phone from cingular and i believe its locked, i haven't done anything to prove it yet but my guess is, its unlocked, i've read threads here that i just go to [email protected], i can get the code, but everytime i do that it just go to the cingular homepage and there's no simunlock option there anywhere. i called up their toll free number and they told me that they don't have any unlocking codes with them. I really need to have my phone unlock because i'll be making a trip to Asia and I dont wantm to apply roaming.
Guest RA695 Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 Per an email I received from Cingular last week: Good morning/afternoon: The Cingular Wireless SIM Unlock Group appreciates the opportunity to assist you with your request and we strive to respond in a timely manner. For security and verification purposes, all requests for SIM unlock codes must be directed to our Customer Service Department which can be reached by dialing 1-866-246-4852. When contacting Customer Service please have the following information available to expedite your call: Customer's name on the account Cingular mobile number Make and model of the phone (ie: Motorola v60) IMEI#. This can be found by pressing *#06# on the phone's keypad. If you are requesting an unlock code on a phone that was purchased from another party (ie: from a seller on Ebay) you will not be able to obtain the code from us. The selling party will need to contact the previous cellular service provider for the code. SIM unlock codes are released to Cingular Wireless customers only. After becoming a Cingular customer you must have service for 90 days before the code is given. Thank you Cingular Wireless SIM Unlock Group
