Guest PaulB Posted January 14, 2005 Report Posted January 14, 2005 Hi there, I shall be travelling to Australia and New Zealand and will be taking my C500 with me. I'm hoping to purchase a local prepaid sim card in Australia and New Zealand to keep costs down. I intend to use the C500 for POP3 access to my email account. It's now Sim unlocked and application unlocked. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best network to go for in each country .... AND ..... are the settings that you can download from Club iMate currently correct and working ? Also, does installing these cab files delete the original Orange settings, or just add additional connections ? I have also looked on www.ausmobile.com but as I have just purchased my C500 and and leaving in just over a week I've got a fair learning curve ahead of me ! Also, is there a child's guide to linking up and iPAQ 5550 via BlueTooth to the C500 for internet access ? I've looked through lots of the articles but not found this. Any practical advice would be helpful. Thanks Paul
Guest Confucious Posted January 14, 2005 Report Posted January 14, 2005 According to the link you gave none of them have GPRS internet access and only one has CSD internet. Might be worth checking out contract SIMS if you're going to be out there for any length of time. Sorry I cant be of more help - there don't seem to be that many Aussie users here, maybe it's worth looking for aussie mobile newsgroups / forums?
Guest PaulB Posted January 14, 2005 Report Posted January 14, 2005 Thanks for that. It was worth asking the question anyway :D
