Guest Motukka Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 so, i turned phone off for night -> morning i turned it on, and every settings was turned default(sounds, homescreen..), and every program was disappeared from remove programs section. Games and programs still work OK. How i can remove programs complete from my phone, if i dont see them in remove program section?? Is Hard reset only solution? Again... :?:
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 Sounds like the dreaded partial reset, caused by low battery and/or low phone memory. As you can never be sure just what has happened it is best to do a full hard reset to clean up any file / registry corruption. Instructions are at the top of the relevant phone forum section.
Guest Confucious Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 (edited) Doesn't it sound more like the bug where when you have to many programs on your phone they disappear from the remove list? Someone said it was about 30 on the e200 and mine reached about 75 on my C500 before they all disappeared. They can still be removed via add/remove programs in ActiveSync. Guest martin Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 If you use SmartExplorer and check \Storage\Windows\AppMgr and if it's empty (no directories) then it lost the tmp files in the reset. It could actually be a good idea to application unlock the phone and backup the AppMgr directory for programs stored on the SD card. The tmp files could then be copied back over after a hard reset of the phone. I haven't tried it though :D
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 I took my lead from the phone resetting the sounds / homescreen.

My files are all there but when I go to remove programs on the phone the list is empty which is why I just use ActiveSync....

Guest Motukka Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 Thanx, my programs and games are still in /storage/windows/appmgr/ if it possible to remove programs via activesync, there is not problem at all then.

HTH The missing files in the Remove Programs list is actually 50 entries I've not tried it on the C500 but from what you are saying it looks like it's still there :D Unfortunately not, disco stu is correct on this one :D It will be a partial reset. Unfortunately the only way to uninstall the applications and games properly now is to either Hard Reset or reinstall the applications again. With a partial reset your best option is to go the Hard reset way.
Guest Confucious Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 Like I said, my problem didn't appear until I had about 75 entries and I CAN uninstall using ActiveSync - but mine is a C500 not an Mpx200 so maybe it's different.

The remove programs bug will be the same on the phones but the initial question in this topic is not related to the remove program bug it is a partial reset that has occured.
