Help c500 wont snyc at all anymore

Can someone help had my phone for two month and suddenly it wont connect to my pc or laptop I havnt changed anything and have most uptodate software what can i do. when i plug it in through the usb it just charges as if it was when plugged into the wall but doesnt show on pc and says no connection found any help would be appreciated thanx.

I usually reboot both PC and phone when that happens.

That has always cured it for me.

There are members who know ActiveSync far better than me (which isn't hard..) so I'd hang on until you get a better reponse. :D

Try deleting the partnership from within Activesync... Im currently playing around with my settings and that helped a lot.

Iv Just uninstalled activesync on my pc then reinstalled it it still wont work i think its a problem with my phone could it be a virus

Check that your phone Activesync is set to use USB and has not been changed to BT.

whats the usb setting under i can only see

connect via ir

setup bt activesync

connect via bluetooth

it doesnt mention usb anywhere :-(

Type should be USB and "Enable PC Sync" checkbopx should be ticked

On the previous screen your PC's name should be selected and both checkboxes should be ticked.

Think my phone is buggered still aint working it is on usb dont think its my pc could be cable

It is not your cable.

You are using WinXP SP2? and Activesync 3.8?

Connected directly to a USB port on your PC (No hub)?

Withe the phone plugged in does it appear in device manager under Windows CE USB Devices as SmartPhone USB Sync?

In ActiveSync on the PC under connection settings is Allow USB connection ticked?

I am using windows xp profesional sp2 and activesync 3.8

it connects straight into usb no hub

it does not appear i the device manager (dont know why)

activsynce usb connectionis ticked

when the phone is plugged it led goes red and it just charges nothing is detected by pc tried searching using activesync and also searching for new hardware nothing found. it says usb is available when searching through activesync but it isnt picking it up. believe me its not me just being a newb. any more advise would be appreciated. Thanx

The reason it does not sync is because it's not in device manager. Unplug it and plug it in again, if it's not recognised try adding it manually.

Hey all i finally fixed my c500 i gav it a bang caz i was so p****d off then i got a pin and scraped it inside where cable goes now it works there must hav been dust on the conections or summit really chuffed now though thanx for all ya help
