joystick problems when playing games

is anyone else experiencing this issue??

when im playing smartnes, and im playing a game, say contra, i'm unable to walk and shot, walk and jump, basically do 2 things at the same time, the phoen is unable to handle 2 actions at the same time.

does anyone know how to fix this? or has the same issue??

There are lots, and lots, and LOTS of threads dedicated to this! Basically, the phone has a hardware issue where it cannot accept two button presses at once. It can accept the * key being pressed at the same time as the direction roller but any other key, or two keys together, will not work. As it's a hardware issue, there won't be a ROM to fix it along anytime soon.

Basically, welcome to the wonderful gaming world of the HTC Typhoon - start every game with the fun "Hmmm.... which button will I need to press with a direction for this one!". :roll:

thanks for the clarification, just got this phone...on friday, so im just learning all i can, i went from a mio 8380, to an 8390, got an mpx220 (which sucked) stuck wiht the 8390, and now got a sp3i

My list isn't that glamorous - Alcatel One Touch Pocket (whose pocket? It was huge!), Motorola StarTAC, Nokia 3310, Ericsson T68 (x5, none worked properly), Sony Ericsson T68i (x4, still none worked), Nokia 7210, Orange SPV, Orange SPV C500.

eg:

joystick-up and button 1

joystick-down and button 2

but i could'nt use button 1 and button 2 at the same time....

really? hmmm, what version are you using? same one im assuming thats floating around everywhere... i tried contra and i can't it to walk and shoot at the same time, i don't want to ruin the phone by pounding too hard on it.

I haven't done something, I've just copied the exe file from the archive to internal phone memory, then copied some ROMs and just started to play! :D

I was also tried Contra (was one of my favorite game on my nintendo game..) and i could move and in the same time jump OR shoot (read it correctly 'or' and not 'and') and many other nice roms (Mario, Chip&Dale, etc)

If you are asking me if I got slowdowns if i move the character in any direction the answer is YES. But if you turn off both the system sounds and the sound inside the emulator the games are running OK.

I've posted also here about slowdowns problems..
