Guest Pondrew Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 (edited) Evening all, Has anyone got their bluetooth headset working in headset profile with their C500? My experience with a Jabra 200 headset has been that although it's simple enough pairing and using handsfree profile I can find no way of selecting headset profile. It only gives the option of handsfree on pairing and in the bluetooth device list. As a result I can't set the C500 to auto answer. Having searched I see I'm not the first with this problem. I've checked the Jabra headset instructions and they don't mention profiles at all, neither does the C500 manual help. No one has said if the C500 definately cannot do headset profile over bluetooth so is it just the Jabra headset that can't? Edited January 18, 2005 by Pondrew
Guest Pondrew Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 Just found this which may be the cause of my problem... depends on the version of BT200 you have. The early ones (2002 early 2003) only supported headset and not handsfree profile (or the other way round) which specifically caused problems with Nokia's. You can send it to Jabra for a firmware upgrade if it is an old one though I think. Sorry I dont have the exact details to hand. but for the fact it goes on to say... If it is one of the ones with the BT base unit for non-BT phones then the ones I have seen has support for all profiles as they were brought out later than the originals. The headset in question is one originally used on the SPV with the BT base unit SOOO I'm as unsure as ever whether the problem is with the C500 or the headset.
