Guest egghead101 Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 This thread is seperate to the other tomtom thread::::: I have been having glitches with Haicom GPS since i got it. When it works it works great but I could not work out why it kept having problems after hard reset. Essentially the Haicom 204 is wired and uses Com1. The trouble is is that so does infared. The default state for infared is recieve all the time. This blocks Com1 and knocks out the GPS. So if you have a Com1 error on the m2000 go to Start/Settings/Connections/beam and deselect always recieve. PROBLEM FIXED!!! :D Oh and if you are using tomtom 3, download the 3.07 gps patch because it improves the call handling when using Navigator..... and one more thing, get yourself some Point of Interest data for tomtom and use checkpoint to manage it. Its great that I can drive anywhere in the UK and get warned of speed cameras, mcdonalds, audi dealerships etc etc etc.... :D
