Guest Terry21uk Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 I installed SPVman in the games folder on the phone useing active sync, (I think this is where it is supposed to go?). But it does not appear in the main games menu on the phone, or anywhere else. The only way I can play it is to go into Smart Exploer and run it from there. What have I done wrong, how do I get it onto the main games menu on the phone along with the other games?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 Place the game exe or a shortcut in Storage\Windows\Start Menu\Games if you have a phone running 2002 OS replace Storage with IPSM
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 Place the game exe or a shortcut in Storage\Windows\Start Menu\Games if you have a phone running 2002 OS replace Storage with IPSM <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Connect phone to PC and browse with ActiveSync to the exe on your storage card. Right-click and choose copy. Now browse to the Games folder in IPSM or Storage and right-click again and choose Paste Shortcut. You can rename the shortcut at this stage to shorten it.
Guest Terry21uk Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Ok. I put the file SPVman.EXE into the games folder useing ActiveSync on my PC, but I still can only run the game from the file manager on the phone!. It still is not in the main games list along with the others in the games menu. So everytime I want to play it i have to go to file manager to run it, surely this isnt correct?
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Did you read the bit above about creating a shortcut ? If you did, sorry, and is SPVman compatible with the C500 ?

Guest razzler Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 Greetings, I have installed SPVman on my C500 with no problems.. I copied the exe over to my storage card (\Storage Card\SPVman.exe), then created the shortcut as follows:- Start the built in file manager (on my phone press 'Start' '9' '9' '4' '3'). Select 'Storage Card' (good idea to hit the 'List View' soft key here so you can see the .exe file). Go to the SPVMan.exe file then hit the 'Menu' soft key. Then press '1' (File), then '8' (Create Shortcut). This then opens another file manager screen which will allow you to browse to:- \Storage\windows\Start Menu\Games (make sure 'Games' is highlighted) then hit the 'Done' soft key........ Come back to the home screen then it's simply 'Start' '9' '1'....... hey presto a shortcut..... Hope this makes sense as it's my first post..... :D BTW HOW COOL IS THIS PHONE!!
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 Welcome to the forum :D Cool tip. Very cool phone.
Guest Terry21uk Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 Thanks i'll give that a try. The SPV C500 is the coolest phone on the planet, once you get your head round it. LOL
