Sprite Restore onto a new handset

After a near-fatal crush injury my C500 is being replaced, but I want to be able to restore my current C500 onto it and I've never tried that before.

Anyone done a phone-to-phone restore like this?

Should I use the Sprite Backup Upgrade tool?

Should I just move the backup file to the new phone and run it?

Any tips?

I'm surprised I missed this one yesterday :?:

I've never done it with a C500 but did it successfully with a succession of E200s. As you say, simply go into Sprite, choose restore and pick your backup file. Presumably you will have the file on your mini-SD and will transfer it to the new phone.

The only time I had a problem was trying to restore my final E200 backup onto my first C500 but I think Sprite have sorted that out now.

What's the Upgrade Tool ?

TBH I don't really know!

It's an announcement of their forums, but the help file isn't actaullay any help!

Ah..that's for transferring backups to new devices.

Oh, OK, but isn't that what I'm doing?

Anyways, I did a backup to mSD, stuck it in the new handset and did a restore (after app unlocking of course) and ... fanny bloomin' tastic!

I got my phone "back" in probably 10 minutes flat
