I read somewhere that the M2000/XDAIIs/PDA2K/etc. has a reversed polarity on the earphone jack and as such doesnt work *quite* properly with a 2.5mm adaptor. Check out Dade's posts cause I also think I saw a work-around.

Thanks very much for letting me know.

There seems to be two types of adapter:

and

http://www.pocketpctechs.com/Accessories.asp?type=audio

I'm not sure what the real functional difference would be.

They are the same, thats why! :D The latter page is a list of devices, which includes all the Blue Angel variants. Which means headphone adapters are now available for these phones!!

I guess that they use the same hardware with different internal wiring for different devices.

If anyone gets hold of one of these I would be very interested to know if they actually work with the Blue Angel. I have my doubts.

Well, the page specifically mentions Blue Angel and also has a main list of all the devices they sell, which contains the XDA/MDA and M2000 models.

As others have said, the only difference is the reverse polarity. I'm surprised it took anyone this long to produce these.

Anyone managed to get hold of one of these and test yet?

Itching to use my m2000 in the car as an MP3 player.

I'm thinking of that for my next car. Current one has mp3 cd player already. I was going to take the audio from the cradle though. There are pinouts for it, that's what car kits use (in addition to a mic hookup!), so my plan was to hack a cradle into having audio out, then feeding that into an amp in the boot. Replace the existing stereo with a empty storage space if possible for loose change etc. Hook up a directional mic pointing at the drivers head. Voila. In car navigation capable custom car kit with music playback capabilities, all for the cost of a cradle.

You might want to check it out. Much neater and easier than having the cradle and an extra wire coming out the top as well. It will be a thief magnet, so take it out even if just leaving the car for 30 secs!!
