Mad Story for you!

Ok you ready

Right i had a Motorola V80 ond one day it broke so i rang up orange and got a replacement on the insurance the next day. For those of you who dont know when they replace your phone they dont replace everything just the phone and you keeo the original battery, charger and so on.

Anyway so i thought right i have a new phone here and decided to sell it on ebay which was succesfull and decided to treat myself to a c500.

I sent the phone out and to cut a long story short when they got the phone they found a fault in the phone it could only work in loud speaker mode! so i said they could send the phone back to me and i would get a replacement from orange and send it back but they decided to send it to Motorola to get fixed. When they told me this they said motorola need proof of purchase along with 3 codes

IMEI - thats ok that is used to block the phone

MSN Number - No idea what this does but is found on the back of the phone under the battery

PUK Code - No idea why they need this because this is sim specific to unblock the sim and also changes all the time.

So i faxed proof and told them how to find the imei *#06# and i wasnt sure how to find the other 2

I then got an email from the buyer stating that Motorola have told him that they cant repair the phone without the MSN Number

They say that it is not normal practice to remove this number and believe

that it may be stolen,

They have asked him to produce the relevant msn number or they will be forced

to take further action, such as reporting the matter to the police or

blocking the phone. If this happens he will be legally obliged to pass my

details on.

Even though no one has taken this sticker off!!!

So i rang Orange and they told me that not everyphone has this number on it and cant see a reason why they need it and that Motorola cant block the phone unless i report the phone stolen to Orange.

So far thats where were upto and i dont know who or what to belive.

I will laugh if the police turn up at my door because i sold my phone which i have proof for!!!

What do you lot think???

You (or the buyer) should contact Motorola and tell them what Orange said.

Best to head-off any unnecessary unpleasantness :D

Sounds like they are trying it on, if they do send the phone back to you

make sure it is your original one and they have not swapped it for a broken unit.

they are now sending it back to me and im giving them a refund, thats after i have checked the phone is in perfect condition apart from that fault and that the imei is the same. If it is i will give them a refund and i will send it off to motorola myself and then re-sell it hopefully woth none of this crap again
