Guest Viruss Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 I'm sorry to bother you with another newbie question yet again, but... I tried installing various MP3 playback applications (Betaplayer, PocketMusic) and I even tried preinstalled Windows media player, but all of them suffer from the same problem - when I try to play an MP3 file, the playback is, at least at the beggining very choppy - seems like my Motorola MPx200 has some troubles buffering it... Is there any way to optimize the phone so that the music playback will be smooth? Any advices? (Note that this even happens when I'm trying to play 128kbit MP3 files, which I think the phone should be able to handle with ease...) I'm running Motorola MPx200 with WM2002, all programs stored on storage card (about 9MB of free space in phone).
Guest martin Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Have you tried increasing the buffer size in Betaplayer under Settings-Select Page-Player ?
Guest Viruss Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Have you tried increasing the buffer size in Betaplayer under Settings-Select Page-Player ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes I tried it, it is slightly better (buffer underrun problem happen very rarely), but I can't get the equalizer in Betaplayer to work correctly... when I enable it, there are often cracks and clicks in music... especially when there should be a lot of bass...
Guest martin Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 What version of Betaplayer are you using ? Have you tried the latest 0.096 http://betaplayer.corecodec.org/
Guest Viruss Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Yes, this is exactly what I am using.. well reducing bass levels in equalizer removed clicks in playback, but then the bass level is kinda low... I've read something on Betaplayer forums, that equalizer is on to-do list for future improvements, so I hope things will get better with time. Overally, I like the sound that pocket music produces more, but it's performance just isn't right...
