Guest Brycey03 Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 Right long story. Got a txt msg, keypad was locked and it wouldnt unlock. So i had to take out the battery and turn the phone back on. Once turned back on the keypad was still locked and i couldnt unlock it. Ive now tried Hard Resetting the phone but I can even do that! What they hell do i do now!?!?! The phone is 1month old and bought from the Modaco shop.
Guest chucky.egg Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 Have a search, because I'm pretty sure that somebody else had a problem with not being able to turn of the keypad lock Failing that send it back and get it replaced is about your only option
Guest Brycey03 Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 Cant really do without a phone though!
Guest (Gav) Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 Hey; I don't mean to sound sceptical but have you tried to do a Hard Reset before? The reason I ask is that I had to perform my 1st Hard Reset today (don't ask, bug-o-matic), and it took me a couple of tries. i.e. With the phone off, if you hold soft 1 and soft 2 (the thin buttons on either side of the SPV logo underneath the screen) then press and HOLD the power button, the phone with NOT give the hard reset option. It will just boot normally. You MUST release the power button BEFORE the 1st inital boot screen shows. But DONT' release the two 'soft' buttons (who named them that anyway), keep them down until you see the hard reset screen. Sorry if you have already tried this. I hope this helps. p.s. Does any one know if there is a way to do soom form of medium reset. i.e. something more than yanking the battery out, but not as drastic as a hard reset?
Guest chucky.egg Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 Good point there - the timing on a Hard Reset on a C500 is crucial What do you want to achieve with a "Medium" Reset? There is the "Clear Storage" option that wipes quite a lot out, but isn't the same AFAIK as a Hard Reset
Guest scott2eyes Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 But DONT' release the two 'soft' buttons (who named them that anyway) "Soft" = not fixed to any particular function (ie. numbers are always the numbers, power on/off is always power on/off etc.),
