Guest Parre Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 This is prolly a topic that has been raised many times. Ive run alot of searches here but havent found the info im looking for. There has arrived a new s/w version for my Qtek and i would really like to upgrade, but then i want to backup all the stuff i have on the phone. How do i backup all the info in my phone memory? The active Sync dont work since the button is outgreyed, disabled. I heard about a program called Sprit Backup. But what does it really backup? Thanks for all help i can get :D

Guest Parre Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 It backs up pretty much everything AFAIK Have a look at the website : http://www.spritesoftware.com/home.html :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks Stu :D Just wanted you guys on the forum know the following. There is a new s/w update for the 8010, which can be reach from here New S/W Qtek 8010 What i was afraid of was to loose all my programs and settings, so what i did was take a backup with "Sprite Backup", see link from Stu. I choose to have the backupfile on my PC and the program backed up litterarly EVERYTHING. Settings, pictures, sound, sms everything :D Then i just upgraded the s/w which improves the bluetooth features and a few more importent things. After the upgrade, which dident take more than like 5mins i had to restard the phone 2 times. Then for restoring the backup, fist time dident work and i was thinking s*** what to do. But then i restarted phone again and choose the option to clean the phone before restoring the backup. Then everything went extreamly well, restored all back to normal. So now im happy with everything that i had before in my phone and the latest s/w in. Dont forget to remove you mem card if you have one when upgrading the phone, or it might wipe that too :P YOu will need the latest version of Active Sync installed too. Well thats my to sents hope anyone can use this.
