Redefine t9 keys on C500

Hi, hope someone can help with this. I've searched all through the forum for info but no-one seems to have raised this issue yet.

I use text messages a lot, and quite frankly I absolutely hate the scrolling through a list of words with the rocker method of selecting a word. On all my other phones, i got to learn exactly how many word matches had to be iterated through for the word i wanted (using a button solely set aside for the purpose, like * on nokia), and as such was able to type at lightning fast speeds (well, i thought so!). What strikes me as quite ridiculous is that there is a "spare" key (0) on the bottom row that does nothing except make a number appear, which could easily be used as a word match iterator button.

Since this phone is registry driven, i'd hope that there's going to be some way to change some registry keys, or patch the software to be able to alter the buttons. Ideally I would like 0 to function as space, and * work as the match iterator a la nokia. I would however be grateful just to be able to use a button to iterate through the matches failing this.

On a related note, the automatic work prioritisation would make learning the word order difficult, so would there be a way to turn this off too?

Another annyoing feature of the text is that after you enter a word, if you select the incorrect match and want to go back, instead of highlighting the entire word you just entered as almost every other phone i have ever used does, it just treats it as a sequence of individual letters, meaning you have to delete the entire word and re-enter it.

Any help anyone could give me with any of these issues would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

You will get used to T9 on the C500 - if you don't then get a N*kia. It's different - nothing can be done about it.

Well, thanks for that informative reply!

Just because no-one knows how to do it yet, it really doesn't mean it's not possible to do anything about it. Anything is possible with the correct knowledge...
