Guest Abyss Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 I recently bought the SPV e200 of ebay and as i went to write a new text msg i noticed at the bottom it had thename of who i bought it off as a signiture, now i looked around the phone to remove it and found inside inbox>options>signatures what i thought was the answer, i it has select acount at the top and under SMS the box for 'Use signature with this account' was unchecked, i then went accross toActiveSync and this time the 'Use signature with this acount was checked as well as 'Includewhen replying and forwarding' and under that the signature was there. Now i deleted the signature from there and unchecked both boxex and went to continue writing the text msg but the signature had not gone, i went back to signature options and the signature on ActiveSync had come back to what it was before i had deleted it. is there a way i can remove it permenently posibly in another options menu or something like that?
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 Welcome to the forum :D When you buy a second-hand Smartphone you should perform a hard reset to clear out the previous owner's settings etc. Instructions here : http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=198362
Guest Abyss Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 i did a ROM upgrade and it was there after that, isnt that the same as wiping it and re-installing new drivers, or does a hard reset change other things to?
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 It's not quite the same thing. I have no idea how the signature thing works TBH but would definitely do the hard reset.
Guest Abyss Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 yeh its all sorted, the hard reset fixed it, thanks
