Guest pippy Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 sory im very new, can u tell me that in n00b language lol :D ?
Guest martin Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 You used to be able to click the letters OTA to get a link to the post - doesn't work anymore. Here's a direct link to the developers site for decert. http://developer.orangews.com/orgspv/comdef.aspx
Guest mirpy1 Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 i dont want my fone unlocked tho <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hi it doesnt unlock your phone to allow other sims to be used it just allows third party apps to be used..
Guest pippy Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 will it damage my fone or stop me from doin stuff
Guest philgriffiths Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 No. The online link above decerts your phone to use any applications you want. I think the actual idea of the site is you 'decertificate' your phone to try out the latest piece of software you have designed. then remove it, and 'recert' your phone and go to orange to get it all properly licenced. However there is nothing to stop you from decerting your phone and doing whatever you like with it, with whatever software you choose. I suppose that technically you run a risk of making your smartphone unstable if you installed an app incorrectly or something like that, but I've had an SPV and SPV E200 both decertificated and installed loads of different things on them and never had any problems....
Guest drblow Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 There is absolutely no risk at all from decertifying your phone. Sorry - I woud have posted the link myself if I knew the old clickable OTA letters didn't work anymore!  Go ahead - decert the phone. It'll allow you to install a load of other stuff that you'll want too.
