c500 parts

i got into a struggle and my c500 fell on the sidewalk and the joystick and 4 buttons(2, 5, 8 and back) ain't working anymore.... i can't fix it because i don't have where to buy c500 parts...anybody knows where i can buy em? internet, store in romania....

i have it for a month now :cry: and i can't take it to warranty...

can anybody help me???

I don't know where you can get spare parts for the C500 but I would probably try HTC and see if they can fix it for you. Worth a try :?:

i talked to orange and it seems there is a service for spv... i'll go there and check it out...hope i don't need to contact htc...

ok the spv service doesn't exist....so i tried to fix it by myself...i looked up into it and i found out that the only key that doesn't work is the joystick. the joystick spread out inside the phone...that's why the other keys were not working...where can i buy a joystick???anybody knows?? please help cuz i'm so lonly without my c500 :cry:

I've found eBay very good for parts for older phones - either as 3rd party replacement parts (LCD screens, batteries, etc) or broken phones for spares and repair.

However, doesn't seem to be any SPV parts or broken units on there at the moment, presumably as they're still all under warranty so it'll take a few months for them to start showing up :D

My guess would be no, but I'll provide the pictures I just took of my disassembled dummy phone and you can probably get the answer yourself. I haven't taken apart the real phone so I don't know if the joystick will work, but it doesn't look to me like it's all there in the dummy phone....

The first pic below shows the metal plate that's inside the dummy phone. On the other side is the joystick and keypad.

If you flip the metal plate around you can see the joystick attached to it...

If you take the joystick off you can see that it is simply glued on to a metal raised rectangle. The dummy joystick is really just the top of it I would guess. It's curved on the inside with nothing else there...

tnx a lot m8...gues that one is out...

anyway..just bought me a new c500 on orange thankyou points...

and it's from the new shippment... there are a few differences

here there are:

*the old phone has better keyboard(i mean it's fit) the new c500 has a more "flexible" keyboard

*it has a brighter display and is at 9300k (i think) and the old one is at 5000k

*the back cover is different the new one is better(don't know how to explain :D )

*the joystick is smoother

and that all i figuerded out(in 3 h)

Thanks a lot for posting those pictures of the dummy phone. That saved me a lot of time and trouble. I guess I have to buy a new phone to get a new joystick--no way to get the faceplate circuitry any other way!
