c500 as a modem via USB cable

I did search but couldnt find an answer to this but supprised if no-one has asked before..

Its annoying to have to keep lining up the InfraRed to use my C500 as a modem for my laptop - Is it not possible to plug in the USB cable and use it as a modem via the cable?

When I select USB in the modem option i get an error when trying to activate

"unsupported or unavailable connection. Verify your phone supports the connection bla bla bla"

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

yeah its simple to do, if you run the modem link app on your phone you get the option of selecting from IrCOMM to USB then click activate from the menu but do it before pluggin in the USB cable.

Thanks waroffice it seems to work. I get an auto installer wizard now, do i need the CD to install some modem drivers or sommat?

Thank you very much indeed.. very helpful, cant believe I don't have to balance my laptop and phone on my knees anymore to get a connection while on trains etc.. :oops: Great! Wish I had this 6months ago..

Once you've got the PC to recognise the phone as a modem what do you do then?
